Architecture often influences design and can provide different perspectives of a problem. The Bassmaster Hipster is the intersection of architecture and the exploitation of an unusual material in the soft goods industry, Dupont TyVek.
Form Exploration
Form exploration was done in small paper models to quickly develop ideas. The final form was selected based on similarities in symmetry, layering, rotational movement and cutouts to that of the Tao Zhu Yi Yuan building.
Prototyping
Prototyping involved creating interpretations of the form into TyVek to try an produce a functional product. I approached it similar to fabric draping by seeing where the material wanted to lay when forming it around the body.
